Overview
This bill creates tax credits for businesses in New Jersey that hire released nonviolent offenders. Corporations can receive a credit against their business tax equal to 15% of the wages paid to these employees, up to a maximum of $900 per employee. Additionally, businesses can receive a credit against their gross income tax at a rate of 15% of wages paid, also capped at $900 per employee. The credits are subject to certain limitations and carryover provisions.
