Overview
This bill requires the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, as well as counties and municipalities, to install Type IV personal flotation devices at lakes, ponds, and rivers within public parks and state forests where swimming, boating, or ice-skating is permitted. These devices must be clearly marked and permanently installed near the water. Counties and municipalities can use designated trust funds to cover the costs of purchasing and installing these devices.
