Overview
This bill requires the New Jersey Turnpike Authority (NJTA) and the South Jersey Transportation Authority (SJTA) to create programs that exempt certain disabled veterans from tolls collected through electronic toll collection systems (E-ZPass). To qualify, veterans must have a license plate displaying ‘Disabled Vet,’ an active E-ZPass account, and own or lease the vehicle. Veterans must first apply for the ‘Disabled Vet’ license plate before applying for the toll exemption.
