Overview
This bill allows someone who buys a car privately to drive it for three days without a permanent registration or title transfer. To do this, they must apply for temporary registration through the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission’s website, providing information about the vehicle and insurance. The commission will then issue a temporary license plate to display on the car. After three days, the vehicle must be properly registered or titled to continue driving.
