Overview
This bill changes the requirements for appointing the Attorney General in New Jersey. Currently, the Governor appoints the Attorney General with Senate approval. This bill adds specific qualifications that must be met by any candidate, including being at least 30 years old, a U.S. citizen for at least 20 years, a resident of New Jersey for at least seven years, and a licensed attorney in good standing for at least 10 years with seven years of active practice.
