Overview
This bill extends foreclosure protections for New Jersey homeowners who were impacted by the remnants of Hurricane Ida. It extends the period for which homeowners can receive a mortgage forbearance from one year to two years. The bill also provides for a stay in foreclosure proceedings for homeowners receiving this forbearance. It amends existing legislation to clarify eligibility criteria and procedures for obtaining a Certification of Eligibility for Forbearance.
