Overview
This bill creates special license plates in New Jersey to raise awareness and support for Autism Awareness. The New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission will issue these plates upon application, displaying appropriate words or slogans. Applicants will pay an initial $50 application fee and an annual $10 renewal fee, with the additional revenue deposited into a dedicated fund for the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, to be used in consultation with the Governor’s Council for Medical Research and Treatment of Autism. The design and color scheme will be determined in collaboration with that council.
