Overview
This bill requires New Jersey law enforcement officers to undergo periodic evaluations to assess potential personal biases. Specifically, officers will be checked upon hiring and every five years thereafter. These checks will involve reviewing publicly available information for evidence of bias or connections to extremist groups, as well as administering a bias assessment test. The Attorney General will establish guidelines for these procedures.
