Overview
This bill amends the New Jersey Conflicts of Interest Law to allow spouses of certain state officers and employees to hold financial interests in regulated businesses. Specifically, it expands the definition of ‘person’ to include spouses of the Governor, President of the Senate, Speaker of the Assembly, judges, and heads of state departments, as well as those with responsibility for casino activity, medical cannabis, and personal use cannabis. It also addresses restrictions on these individuals’ involvement with businesses related to these industries, ensuring that such involvement doesn't create conflicts of interest.
