Overview
This bill aims to protect New Jersey consumers who rely on telecommunications services like cable, phone, and internet. It establishes rules for telecommunications service providers regarding service outages. Specifically, if a customer experiences more than three outages within a 30-day period, the provider is prohibited from charging early termination fees or cancellation fees related to ending their contract. The provider must also refund fees paid for establishing or activating service and for terminating service with a previous provider. Furthermore, the provider is required to keep records of outages and notify affected customers.
