Overview
This bill makes it illegal for individuals or private entities to enter into contracts to conceal or alter evidence in order to hinder law enforcement investigations. It creates a civil right of action for victims of crimes where a person or entity attempted to obstruct justice for financial gain. Victims can sue those who entered into such agreements, regardless of other legal remedies available. The lawsuit must be filed within five years of discovering the concealment.
