Overview
This bill requires New Jersey physicians to undergo implicit bias training to help them recognize and mitigate unconscious biases that could affect patient care. The Department of Health, in collaboration with several state agencies, will establish a list of approved training programs and a process for providers to gain approval. Physicians will be required to complete a minimum of two hours of training initially, followed by two hours every two years to ensure ongoing awareness and skill development.
