Overview
This bill directs the New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness to create and provide security risk assessment guidance to public and private colleges and universities that receive state funding. The guidance will help these institutions identify and evaluate potential hazards and risks, such as campus safety, data security, and emergency response plans. The Office will also develop a checklist for these institutions to use annually, which will be reviewed and updated in consultation with governing boards.
