Overview
This bill directs the Board of Public Utilities (BPU) in New Jersey to examine the rates and revenue collected by electric public utilities that use smart meters. The BPU must compare these amounts before and after the utilities installed the smart meters. The BPU will then compile a report summarizing its findings and submit it to the Governor and the Legislature within six months of the bill’s enactment.
