Overview
This bill requires the New Jersey Supreme Court to dismiss charges, complaints, and arrest warrants that have been unresolved in municipal courts for at least five years. It also directs the Administrative Office of the Courts to conduct studies on expanding existing dismissal programs and exploring a ‘Fugitive Safe Surrender Program’ similar to one used federally. The bill aims to address a backlog of old, unresolved cases and improve court efficiency.
