Overview
This bill amends New Jersey’s domestic violence statutes to broaden the definition of who can be protected under a domestic violence restraining order. Currently, protections applied only to adults and emancipated minors aged 16 or older. This legislation extends those protections to include minors aged 16 and older, encompassing victims who are 16 or older, emancipated minors, individuals with a child in common with the abuser, and those with a dating relationship with the abuser.
