Overview
This bill requires the New Jersey Department of Health (DOH) to evaluate whether hospitals in the state are complying with federal hospital price transparency requirements. If a hospital is found to be noncompliant, the DOH can issue warnings, request corrective action plans, or impose civil monetary penalties. The bill also establishes a process for hospitals to submit corrective action plans and outlines the potential penalties for continued noncompliance, including daily dollar amounts based on hospital bed size.
