Overview
This bill increases penalties for the sale of tobacco and vapor products to individuals under 21 in New Jersey. It raises fines for violations from $250 to $3,000 for first, second, and subsequent offenses, respectively. Additionally, it requires retailers to post conspicuous signs warning of penalties for underage sales and establishes a process for retailers to report compliance efforts. A portion of the collected penalties will fund public education programs.
