Overview
This bill requires New Jersey retailers who accept the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) to display information to recipients about how to protect themselves from fraud and theft of their benefits. Specifically, the posters will advise recipients on securing their electronic benefits transfer cards. The Department of Human Services will create and distribute these informational materials to all authorized SNAP retailers in the state. This aims to increase awareness and reduce instances of SNAP benefits being stolen.
