Overview
This bill, if enacted, would establish a task force to study and make recommendations regarding the potential implementation of a statewide plastic film recycling program in New Jersey. The task force would be responsible for examining existing recycling infrastructure, identifying challenges and opportunities, and proposing a plan for collecting, processing, and recycling plastic film – such as grocery bags and plastic wrap. It aims to address the significant environmental impact of plastic film waste currently not effectively managed through existing recycling systems. The task force’s recommendations would then be presented to the New Jersey Legislature for consideration.
