Overview
This bill requires the New Jersey Department of Human Services (DHS) to create a system to stop funding for support services provided to General Assistance beneficiaries when they no longer receive those services. Specifically, it mandates that DHS contact providers and beneficiaries to determine when services end and ensures that providers repay any funds received for beneficiaries who are discharged or no longer in treatment or housing. The goal is to prevent continued payments for services that are no longer needed.
