Overview
This bill creates a gross income tax credit for volunteer first responders, such as firefighters and emergency medical personnel, who also have childcare expenses. To qualify, volunteers must have worked at least 150 hours during the tax year, including training, and provide documentation of their childcare costs, which can include hiring a caregiver or using licensed childcare facilities. The credit is capped at $5,000 per taxpayer per year, representing 50% of eligible childcare expenses.
