This bill revises Nevada’s system for ensuring public schools are meeting educational standards. It allows the state superintendent to reduce reporting requirements if data isn't useful, establishes a statewide accountability system with consequences for low-performing schools, and creates a program to help students attend alternative educational settings if their school is struggling. The bill also establishes a fund to support literacy interventions and makes changes to how school funding is allocated and managed, including a system for open enrollment and incentives for high-performing teachers and administrators.
