Bill overview
This bill modifies provisions relating to criminal procedure in Nevada. Specifically, it expands an existing exception to bail for defendants arrested for certain offenses, including battery that constitutes domestic violence. It prohibits a court from admitting a defendant to bail if they are arrested for domestic violence battery and were previously under a suspended sentence or serving residential confinement for another offense. The bill also authorizes a court to revoke bail for defendants who commit a felony or domestic violence battery during their release period, and establishes a process for law enforcement to arrest individuals violating a contact order issued as a condition of their release.
