Bill overview
This bill expands the authority of certain Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) and law enforcement employees to inspect vehicles for the purpose of locating stolen vehicles. It allows DMV personnel to conduct similar inspections to those currently performed by Public Safety and local law enforcement. The bill also modifies rules regarding court orders for pen register devices and prohibits tampering with emissions control devices, with an exception for engine swaps that include operational emissions control devices. Finally, it clarifies unlawful evidence related to emissions compliance.
