Bill overview
This bill modifies the regulations for court reporters and court reporting firms in Nevada. Specifically, it removes the fixed fee amounts currently in place for these services and requires the Certified Court Reporters’ Board of Nevada to establish initial, reasonable fees through regulation. These initial fees will be based on the fees in effect as of December 31, 2025, and the Board can subsequently adjust them within a 90-125% range. The bill also authorizes municipal courts to designate individuals to operate sound recording equipment and increases compensation for court reporters’ transcription and reporting services.
