Bill overview
This bill makes changes to public health regulations in Nevada. It requires hospitals and freestanding birthing centers to provide sign language interpreters for patients giving birth, allowing family members and doulas to be present during the birthing process. The bill also mandates that health insurance plans cover doula services and testosterone replacement therapy for menopausal women, and prohibits the use of race-based health formulas in healthcare. Furthermore, it requires an independent mental health assessment for children in child welfare custody and addresses communication accessibility for people with disabilities.
