Bill overview
This bill revises requirements for earning a State Seal of Financial Literacy in Nevada high schools. It lowers the required GPA from 3.25 to 3.0 and changes the criteria for demonstrating financial literacy proficiency. Students can now demonstrate proficiency by completing at least three credits in career and technical education, mathematics, or social studies courses related to financial literacy, earning a B or higher in a college-level course, scoring at least 85% on a financial literacy assessment, or completing an objective test provided by a career and technical student organization. The bill also expands financial literacy instruction to include kindergarten through 12th grade, requiring schools to actively encourage resources and provide professional development training for teachers.
