Bill overview
This bill changes the rules about what certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs) can do with medications. Currently, they can only order, prescribe, possess, and administer controlled substances, poisons, dangerous drugs, and devices to treat patients in critical access hospitals under the supervision of a physician. This bill expands that authority, allowing CRNAs to do the same outside of critical access hospitals under certain circumstances, similar to how registered nurses are authorized to handle these substances.
