Bill overview
This bill requires Nevada employers to take steps to protect employees from poor air quality caused by wildfire smoke. The state’s administrator will create regulations outlining how employers must monitor air quality, communicate potential risks to employees, and provide training on how to minimize exposure. Certain employers, such as mine operators, commercial truck drivers, and emergency services providers, are exempt from these requirements, as are businesses with 10 or fewer employees. The regulations will also prohibit employers from holding them liable for insurance-related issues.
