Bill overview
This bill significantly revises Nevada’s laws regarding property crimes. It removes the requirement to unlawfully enter or remain in a business structure to commit burglary, making it a crime to simply intend to commit grand or petit larceny, assault, or battery within a business. The bill also lowers the felony threshold for theft from $25,000 to $650, expands the definition of ‘organized retail theft’ to include buying merchandise obtained through theft, and reduces the penalties for habitual theft offenders.
