Bill overview
This bill revises the rules governing interscholastic activities in Nevada. It requires the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association (NIAA) to establish a process for designating sanctioned sports, set standards for those sports, and publish regulations online. The bill also mandates the NIAA to designate lacrosse as a sanctioned sport by the 2026-2027 school year, and establishes a subcommittee within the Education Committee to oversee the NIAA's activities. If the NIAA fails to meet certain deadlines, authority to adopt regulations will shift to the Nevada Association of School Superintendents.
