Bill overview
This bill establishes the Tribal Health Authority Council in Nevada to improve the health of American Indians. It creates a framework for the Council to develop and implement a plan to increase access to healthcare and address barriers faced by this population. The bill also creates an Account for Tribal Health to fund the Council’s activities and authorizes the Department of Health and Human Services to collaborate on a program to reinvest federal Medicaid funds. Furthermore, it allows Indian tribes to presumptively determine Medicaid eligibility with state support.
