Bill overview
This bill updates Nevada law regarding crosswalk safety by expanding the restrictions on stopping, standing, or parking near crosswalks. Initially, vehicles were required to be at least 20 feet away from both marked and unmarked crosswalks. However, the bill allows local authorities to establish greater distances if they deem it necessary for community safety and install official traffic control devices to indicate the new distance. The bill initially only allows warnings for violations, but this restriction is removed effective January 1, 2027, allowing law enforcement to issue citations.
