Bill overview
This bill amends Nevada law to require members of the Board of Regents of the University of Nevada to complete specific training for professional development. Board members must now complete at least 6 hours of training each year during their terms, covering topics such as Open Meeting Law, bias and discrimination in higher education, ethics, and financial management. The Secretary of the Board will assist members with this training and notify the board of any failures to comply. Additionally, members will receive compensation for training hours outside of regular board meetings, up to a maximum of 18 hours per year.
