Bill overview
This bill changes the timeline for executing death sentences in Nevada. Currently, a judge must issue a warrant appointing a week for execution, with that week needing to be between 60 and 90 days from the judgment date. This bill extends that timeframe to between 120 and 180 days from the judgment date, or 120-180 days from the latest date any previous warrant appointed for execution. It also clarifies that if a new warrant is issued after a previous one, the new appointment must be at least 120-180 days from that latest date.
