Bill overview
This bill updates regulations for autonomous vehicles in Nevada. It requires a human operator with a commercial driver’s license and specific training to be present in autonomous vehicles, particularly those exceeding 26,000 pounds in gross vehicle weight or with more than two axles and transporting eight or more passengers. The operator must be able to immediately take manual control if the vehicle’s automated system fails. The law also establishes a sunset date of September 30, 2035, for these regulations.
