An act to amend section 63-1-17, mississippi code of 1972, to update procedures related to the filing of certain statements; To amend section 63-1-45, mississippi code of 1972, to delete certain language concerning receipts provided to applicants; To set forth requirements for applicants to the driver service bureau certified driver's education instructor course; To provide that information related to driver records, certified driver records, and motor vehicle reports shall only be available for the permissible uses set forth IN the driver privacy protection act of 1994; To require the department of public safety to establish the means by which such records may be obtainable for permissible uses; To provide that any fees collected for providing such records shall be deposited to the driver service bureau special fees fund; To amend section 63-1-46, mississippi code of 1972, to revise the purpose of certain expenditures IN a special fund; To amend section 63-1-51, mississippi code of 1972, to delete a reference to the commissioner being at a certain location within the state; To amend section 63-1-52, mississippi code of 1972, to revise the method of notification of a suspension, cancellation OR revocation of a driver's license OR driving privileges; To amend sections 63-1-1 and 63-1-11, mississippi code of 1972, to conform; To amend section 63-1-41, mississippi code of 1972, to require licensees to display a required license by handing the license to a law enforcement officer for inspection; To repeal section 63-1-34, mississippi code of 1972, which is an outdated provision of law that required the preparation of video tapes by the mississippi authority for educational television; To provide an editorial instruction to the codifier; And for related purposes.
