Bill overview
The Educational Equity Challenge Grant Act of 2026 aims to improve educational outcomes for all students by establishing a grant program administered by the Department of Education. This program will provide funding to local educational agencies, consortia, State agencies, and partnerships to implement evidence-based activities or innovative strategies addressing academic, social-emotional, mental, behavioral, and physical health needs, particularly those exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. The grants will prioritize serving high-need students, including those from low-income families and marginalized communities, and will encourage both evidence-based and locally-developed solutions.
