Overview
This bill will automatically transfer certain manufacturers' warranties for heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems included as fixtures in residential properties to new owners when the property is sold. The warranty will continue to be valid as if the new owner were the original purchaser, and the warrantor cannot charge a fee for the transfer. The bill also clarifies that warranty transfers do not extend the warranty's remaining term and that registration with the manufacturer is not required.
