Bill overview
This bill limits the ability of West Virginia municipalities to regulate accessory dwelling units (ADUs). It prevents cities and towns from requiring additional parking, matching the exterior design of existing homes, or imposing restrictions based on occupancy relationships. The bill also prohibits impact fees and certain development standards that are more restrictive than those for single-family homes. Municipalities can still charge a review fee and require will-serve letters for utilities.
