Bill overview
This bill changes the requirements for expunging certain criminal convictions in West Virginia. Individuals convicted of nonviolent felonies or multiple misdemeanors can petition a circuit court for expungement if they successfully complete a 90-day substance abuse treatment program, graduate from a job readiness training course, or complete a drug court program – or a combination of these. The bill also waives the fee associated with the expungement process.
