Bill overview
This bill proposed to implement ranked-choice voting in the town of Acton, Massachusetts. Ranked-choice voting allows voters to rank candidates in order of preference, and if no candidate receives a majority of first-choice votes, the candidate with the fewest votes is eliminated, and their votes are redistributed to the voters’ next choice. This process continues until a candidate secures a majority. The bill was ultimately unsuccessful and failed in the legislature.
