Bill overview
This bill proposed to require that the owner of a property must also live in an accessory dwelling unit (ADU) on their property. The bill aimed to limit the proliferation of ADUs by ensuring that they were primarily occupied by their owners. It was ultimately unsuccessful and failed to pass the legislature. Similar legislation has been proposed in the past focusing on different aspects of ADUs in Massachusetts.
