Bill overview
This bill modifies how agricultural land can be used for renewable energy projects. It allows landowners to separate a portion of their agricultural land for renewable energy generation without triggering immediate property conveyance requirements, provided the land is not productively used for agriculture. Land used for renewable energy will be subject to a reduced property tax rate (50%) while in use, but will revert to standard conveyance rules if the renewable energy use ceases and the land is not returned to agricultural use. There are limits on the amount of land that can be separated.
