Bill overview
This bill allows the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) to transfer ownership of three parcels of land in Norton to the town of Norton for redevelopment purposes. The land was previously acquired by MassDOT for highway purposes in 1973. The town can then sell or lease the land to further its redevelopment plans, with proceeds returned to the state to cover the land’s fair market value. MassDOT will conduct a survey to determine the exact boundaries before the transfer.
