Bill overview
The Reforming Disaster Recovery Act establishes a Community Disaster Assistance Fund to support housing and community development in severely impacted areas following major disasters. The fund, administered by the Department of Housing and Urban Development, will provide grants to states, local governments, and tribes for disaster relief, long-term recovery, and mitigation efforts, particularly benefiting low- and moderate-income households. The bill also creates an Office of Disaster Management and Resiliency within HUD and amends the Community Development Block Grant program to specifically address disaster recovery needs.
