Bill overview
This bill changes the law for limited liability companies (LLCs) in New Jersey to allow them to drop or terminate alternate business names before their five-year registration period ends. Currently, LLCs cannot do this. However, this change does not apply to LLCs that operate as residential landlords, who are still restricted from terminating alternate names before the registration period expires. The bill also updates references to ensure duties are handled by the State Treasurer.
