Bill overview
This bill prohibits hotels with 50 or more rooms from providing guests with personal care products in single-use plastic containers. The restrictions will phase in over time, starting with a six-month period for hotels with 50 rooms or more and expanding to all hotels after a year. Hotels can still provide these products upon a guest’s express request outside of guest rooms or shared bathrooms. The bill also prevents municipalities from enacting similar regulations and preempts existing local ordinances.
