Bill overview
This bill requires New Jersey to provide periodic cancer screenings to volunteer firefighters. Volunteer firefighters will be reimbursed for the cost of these screenings, up to $1,250 every three years, with reimbursements adjusted for inflation. The screenings must include checks for colon, lung, bladder, oral, thyroid, skin, blood, breast, cervical, testicular, and prostate cancers. Serving as a volunteer firefighter is considered a pre-existing condition for reimbursement purposes.
